Bodie Ghost Town/
Hwy 395 Workshop
For the past two years, I've led a Fall Photography workshop to the Eastern Sierra.
One of the highlights is exclusive access to Bodie State Historic Park for an visit inside many of the buildings that are closed to the general public and get access to Bodie from 6PM - AM for night photography.
We offer classroom time, Night Photography instruction and beautiful locations to photograph. In October 2024, we were excited to visit the Eastern Sierras during leaf peeping season and were rewarded with some eye popping colors.
We always visit the Wild Horses of the Montgomery Pass Herd which many attendees feel is the icing on the cake.
We plan to offer this Workshop again September 2025.

The “Bodie Trip” was an incredible experience! As an amateur photographer, I truly valued the chance to explore and photograph such numerous and amazing locations. The trip was thoughtfully planned and well-organized, making the most of our time.
Kathy and her two assistants were great, each bringing their unique photography styles and teaching approaches. I appreciated their balance of hands-on guidance when needed, while also giving us plenty of space to explore and create at our own pace. The camaraderie among the group made the experience even more enjoyable.
My favorites? Time at at Bodie - inside and outside the buildings with just our group and the absolute thrill of experiencing the wild horses in their natural habitat! I can’t wait to join Kathy and her team on future trips!

When we booked our workshop with Kathy last October, I expected it would be fun and well run, but I never expected how special it would be!
The unprecedented access to Bodie State Park, both before and after hours, was epic! The Night Photography tutelage was more than helpful and the support from Kathy and her team was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable.
All that would have been enough to consider it a great workshop. Then add Nevada’s, rare and majestic wild horses! Hundreds of them! It was one of those moments in my life that will stand out forever. The mountains in the background, and the horses in their natural environment, made for a very special adventure.
I consider it to be one of the best workshops I’ve ever attended!
